Ford of Europe needed to roll out its new branding across more than 350 showrooms in 20+ countries, while maintaining consistency across different markets and enabling local teams to deliver the installation.

The scale of the rollout made the graphics specification critical. Materials had to withstand different climates and building conditions, while remaining practical for local teams to install. Ford needed the right technical solution established before production and rollout began.

GLIMMA worked with Ford of Europe, design agency Imagination and materials partner 3M to define the technical approach, test the graphics solution and manage its rollout across the network.

GLIMMA rolled out Ford of Europe’s new branding across more than 350 showrooms in 20+ countries using a durable graphics solution designed for local installation.

The challenge

350 showrooms, 20 climates, one finish

Ford of Europe needed its new branding in place across a huge dealership network — more than 350 showrooms spread across more than 20 countries — without losing consistency or quality from one market to the next.

Large-format graphics at this scale have to survive real-world wear across very different climates and building types, and still be deployable by local teams rather than one central crew traveling to every site.

Ford needed a partner who could recommend the right materials and process before committing to a rollout this size, not after problems showed up in the field.

The approach

Get the material right first.

GLIMMA worked directly with Ford of Europe and their design agency, Imagination, alongside materials partner 3M, to define the right technical approach before rollout began. Drawing on its installation experience across large-format graphics programs, GLIMMA recommended a 3M Clearview solution suited to showroom-scale application.

That recommendation was made with delivery in mind from the outset — a solution that could be produced centrally but installed consistently by local teams across more than 20 countries.

The wrong material choice on a 350-site rollout doesn’t show up as a design problem. It shows up two years later, as cost and rework.

The solution

One material spec,
350 local installations.

GLIMMA implemented the 3M Clearview graphics solution across Ford of Europe’s showroom network, developing and deploying the new branding at scale. The chosen material and application method let graphics be delivered at a local level right across Europe, so showrooms in different countries could be updated on their own timeline without depending on a single centralized installation team. The solution was selected specifically for durability and visual impact, built to stand up to the wear a public-facing showroom environment puts on large-format graphics over time.

3M Clearview was specified for durability — a public-facing showroom puts years of wear on large-format graphics.

The impact

Durable branding.
Deployed locally, everywhere.

The rollout gave Ford of Europe durable, high-impact branding across its showroom network, while also delivering economic and environmental savings over the short and long term compared with less durable alternatives.

Because the solution could be deployed locally, Ford avoided the cost and delay of routing every installation through a single central team.

Getting the technical recommendation right before rollout is what made that possible — the material and the delivery model were chosen together, not in sequence.

Why us?

The recommendation before the rollout

A showroom rebrand at this scale needs the right technical recommendation before it needs installation — the wrong material choice shows up as cost and rework later.

GLIMMA brought installation experience and a direct working relationship with Ford’s design agency and materials partner, so the graphics solution was right the first time, and could still be delivered locally across more than 20 different markets.

GLIMMA continues to support Ford in maintaining and scaling its European dealership brand environment.
