Delta operates more than 4,000 flights a day across 275+ destinations on six continents. Delivering a consistent brand experience across that network means managing far more than individual signage installations. It requires a coordinated approach to the many physical brand touchpoints passengers encounter throughout their journey.

Airport environments are complex, high-traffic spaces, with different operational requirements, stakeholders and local conditions. Maintaining consistency across them requires ongoing visibility of branded assets, clear specifications and close coordination between global and local teams.

GLIMMA works with Delta across the passenger journey, designing, producing and installing visual brand assets while using on-site surveys, asset tracking and central brand data to support ongoing management across the network.

GLIMMA supports Delta’s brand experience across 275+ airport destinations, from curbside to baggage claim and across the passenger journey.

The challenge

Curbside to baggage claim, everywhere Delta flies

Delta operates more than 4,000 flights a day across 275+ destinations on six continents, serving over 200 million customers a year with roughly 80,000 employees. Every one of those airport environments is complex, high-traffic, and governed by its own mix of stakeholders, regulations and operational constraints.

Delivering a consistent, high-quality brand experience from curbside to baggage claim — everywhere Delta flies — takes more than a one-off installation. It requires ongoing precision, coordination and sector expertise.

It also requires a way to keep evolving the brand experience over time without losing consistency across the network. A programme that only works the day it finishes is not a programme.

The approach

Map the journey, not the sites.

GLIMMA applies a journey-led methodology, mapping every stage of the passenger experience and aligning brand delivery to each one, rather than treating signage and environments as isolated installations.

Global audits and asset tracking, journey-based environment planning, and central coordination with local delivery teams give GLIMMA visibility and control across every location at once — an approach built for continuous delivery rather than a single rollout.

A passenger doesn’t experience 275 airports. They experience one journey, several times a year. Planning against the journey rather than the site list is what makes that journey feel like one brand.

The solution

275+ destinations.
One continuous programme.

GLIMMA manages an extensive range of brand assets for Delta globally: signage, wayfinding and marketing communication assets across check-in, baggage claim, gates, lounges and ground transportation, plus the on-site surveys, project tracking and brand asset database that keep all of it current. The design team interprets Delta’s brand guidelines to create visual communication that holds up across the entire customer travel journey, with continuous monitoring and optimisation adding new services to the programme over time rather than treating the relationship as a single finished project.

On-site surveys and a live brand asset database are what keep 275+ destinations current, rather than accurate only on the day they were installed.

The impact

Quality, impact and emotion —
at every touchpoint.

GLIMMA has delivered a consistent, high-quality brand experience across Delta’s global passenger journey — one described as “rich in quality, impact and emotion” across every touchpoint a traveller encounters.

Structured global delivery paired with deep sector expertise keeps that consistency in place across 275+ destinations, even as the programme continues to add new capabilities.

The relationship is an operating capability rather than a finished project: surveys, tracking and the asset database keep running, and new services join the programme as Delta’s needs change.
