DP World had grown from an international port operator into an end-to-end, data-driven supply chain business operating across more than 40 countries. Its expansion through acquisitions and organic growth had created a diverse, decentralized brand landscape that no longer clearly reflected the breadth of the business.
DP World needed a clearer foundation for the next stage of its growth: an evidence-based view of how the brand was being experienced across regions and touchpoints, a positioning framework that reflected the business today, and stronger governance to bring greater consistency to how the brand was managed.
GLIMMA conducted a research-led review covering stakeholder questionnaires and interviews, online and physical brand touchpoints, and the existing brand management framework. The findings informed a roadmap covering brand positioning, identity, communications, applications and governance.
GLIMMA delivered a strategic roadmap to strengthen DP World’s positioning, identity and brand governance as the business continued to evolve.
A name the business had outgrown
DP World is a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions that has grown well beyond its original identity as a port operator. Since its formation in 2005, the business has expanded into end-to-end supply chain services across more than 40 countries, evolving far beyond the implications of its original name and heritage.
That growth left a diverse and sometimes inconsistent brand landscape behind it, with decentralized approaches taken across regions and touchpoints. The same brand met the market differently depending on where you encountered it.
The organization required a strategic framework that would bring clarity, consistency and relevance to its identity in today’s market — one that reflects the full breadth of its services while supporting future growth.
Grounded in insight, not assumption.
GLIMMA undertook a structured, research-driven review of the DP World brand to establish a robust foundation for strategic recommendations. Primary stakeholder research — interviews, questionnaires and workshops — established what purpose, vision, values, personality and audiences actually mean inside the business, rather than what a document says they are.
Alongside it, an audit of DP World’s online presence and physical brand touchpoints identified inconsistencies and opportunities for alignment, while benchmarking set both against future market expectations and DP World’s evolving service model.
This three-way research methodology ensured that recommendations were grounded in insight, not assumption.

One roadmap.

GLIMMA delivered a series of strategic recommendations and a roadmap to evolve the DP World brand. A detailed positioning framework set out how the brand can better represent its global logistics and supply chain capabilities, supported by clarified identity concepts built for application across touchpoints and regions. Alongside them came recommendations for brand governance and visual application protocols, and a review and optimization of DP World’s Brandspace digital asset management system — improving role definition, access and clarity of guidelines. Together these outputs shape a future-ready brand platform that aligns with DP World’s growth and strategic ambitions.

The audit covered online presence and physical brand touchpoints alike — the two places a decentralized identity drifts apart fastest.

Governance is what keeps a positioning framework intact once it reaches regions, suppliers and touchpoints: defined roles, clear access, and guidelines people can actually find.
One identity. Every market.
Governed, not hoped for.
The engagement provided DP World with a clear, research-based view of its current brand landscape and a defined direction for strengthening the relevance of its identity.
The framework supports more consistent execution across markets and serves as a foundation for future tactical implementation — from communications through to branded environments.
By aligning purpose, positioning and governance, DP World is better equipped to shape a cohesive global identity that matches its operational scale and strategic vision — a brand platform built to hold across regions and touchpoints.

Beyond surface-level recommendations
DP World needed a partner capable of stepping beyond surface-level recommendations to deliver strategic insight and practical governance thinking. GLIMMA brings a blend of brand strategy expertise, implementation experience and systems thinking that connects insight with structure.
Rather than simply proposing creative changes, GLIMMA delivered a roadmap that helps DP World govern and scale its brand with confidence — closing the gap between where the brand was and where it needs to be in a competitive global market.
GLIMMA continues to support DP World as it evolves and implements the strategic recommendations for long-term brand growth.
