SNCF worked with GLIMMA on a pilot scheme to test if the application of graphics would help to reduce vandalism on their trains.
As France’s high speed rail operator, they faced the daily challenge of vandalism to the toilet facilities on their train carriages. This is not only costly but also has a negative impact on their customer service and brand reputation.
We carried out an initial pilot and introduced vibrant, self-adhesive graphics to the toilet facilities as a way to discourage vandalism. The multiple design options, the production and the application were all managed by our team.
A successful pilot scheme that proves that by creating distraction and beauty in an unexpected place, people are more inclined to look after it.
Since the refurbishment vandalism has been almost eliminated from their toilet facilities and with customer satisfaction and replacement costs down, the return on investment has been impressive.
