European petrol forecourt retail stores refurbishment

The Challenge

When you are refitting and rebranding over 1,500 petrol forecourt retail stores across Europe and beyond, it is easy to believe a completely centralised approach will control both quality and cost. However, the reality on the ground isn't always what was envisioned in the central office.

The Solution

GLIMMA recently faced this challenge but took a different approach.

Brand management, project management, design and materials specification were all handled centrally but the production of the graphics was handled locally. So, local experts could advise on local challenges and handle minor variations to the specification, particularly dimensions, to cater for local requirements.

The Benefits

The programme was rolled out to time and budget with an estimated cost saving of between 10 and 15% being achieved through the approach taken – central management with local delivery.

Central management meant that the key elements of the project from image management through to materials specification and health and safety standards onsite were consistent throughout the project for every location.

Local production meant that the project had the critical elements of local flexibility and expertise built in ensuring delivery to time and budget.
